  • Blue Diamonds....which ones ??

    Hi folks,

Was paying a visit to our dear ADR ebay stor this afternoon, looking for some tips but was pretty confused by the amount of tips named "Blue Diamonds". To me there had always be one single brand using that name but now I can see Brunswick, Cannon, etc. using also that title.

So which ones are the real orignals??
And alos, how would you rank them to standard Elkies? there supposed to be similar but....now?

    Thanks!

The tip closest to the blue diamond of old is the Buffalo Diamond Plus from the original manufacturer of the 80s epic blue diamond.

"Buffalo Diamond Plus snooker or pool cue tips are made to the same recipe as the Blue Diamond tips of the 1980's and are manufactured by Tweeten Fibre Company in the USA, the same people that make Master Chalk and Elkmaster cue tips. The Diamond Plus cue tips are slightly firmer than an Elkmaster but are still constructed using pressed leather infused with chalk. This process means you have a consistent cue tip that holds chalk well and also grips the cue ball with ease."

You can genuine BDP tips for 99p each from a proper company, no joke:

Boom, I did it again! Let's go Erwan! :biggrin-new:

Brunswick are the only tips called Blue Diamond, that was the original name before they changed them and although still known as Blue Diamond they were actually labeled as just Brunswick Snooker tips, new ones in the light blue box are back to being labeled Blue Diamond and are very good, firmer than Elks. Cannon are Blue Velvet, which are economy tips for club use, hit and miss and then there's Buffalo Diamond Plus made by Tweeten supposedly to the same design as the old Brunswick Blue Diamond but not the original maker of them contrary to the above post, which are excellent again firmer than Elk
