  • The TSF own laminated tips.

Has anyone tried these out and what are their thoughts on them.I currently use ADR 147s medium (uk 8 ball only) and like them but would prefer a tan version.

Are they not exactly the same as the ADR ones?

No, totally different. They are a bit more expensive to make than mine as well. I like them, great feel and grip to them.

No definately not I tried the soft, different colour to the ADR tan tips, more orange, great grip but they do feel very hard, I found the TSF soft was actually slightly harder than the ADR medium.

This adds even more confusion to players; the random assignment of SS, S, M, H, SH. No mechanical test figure is specified for a lot of these lammy tips. It's all trial and error unfortunately.

Spot on , if your forking out £7-10 for a tip you should know what you are getting.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

The grading is against each other - there is no official benchmark !!

I know ADR ,that's what makes it so hard, try one lammy tip and you like a medium, try another type ,so you get a medium and its like a brick, tenner wasted. This wasting money could go right across the full range of tips. It shouldn't be that hard to have a kind of MOHs test for tips.

I actually tried to put a number to each one with a hardness meter - I spent months on it - but it does not actually help because a harder tip with better grip will feel softer etc etc!
