    Hi Sunny,

.............I think they are probably the most expensive tip you can buy, and some would also say considered to be 'the best cue tips on the market today'. Personally, I think it's what's right for yourself, that's the best for you. And you could be using a much cheaper tip, but the fit is right, and you can play well with it, and it's easy to replace, which for me is just as important.

One of my practice partners uses these tips, and he swears buy them, but they work for him, and he tends to mix 'n' match as well with Talisman, and I think Sterling too, as he plays pool as well. If you're talking about the quality of them, I'd agree 100%, as I believe they are made from pig skin, and they are layered quite a bit to allow the tip to maintain its shape longer, which it does. They are expensive too, around £12.50, and I don't think really they're worth that much, maybe £5/£6 at the most.

They also come in a couple of different types as well: slow; medium; and quick; and this basically represents the speed and how quickly the tip recovers after it strikes the cue ball, so to speak. And the quick tip is a relatively hard feeling tip, and the slow tip is very soft in comparison.

On the negative side, I think they are fairly intricate things to replace and fit properly, especially if you have a small one to fit, but don't let that put you off.

Maybe best to try yourself, and perhaps with a couple of others too, and do a bit of a benchmarking exercise: testing the fit and feel; reaction on striking the cue-ball; the impact on object ball; reaction to chalk; and how easily you can fit and replace them. I'd really enjoy doing this, and give them marks out of 10, maybe. Also ask your friends what they think, or your practice partner, as they can sometimes see things that we miss.

And hope this helps a little Sunny, and that you find the one that works for you.

    Lol...........xx

hercules H2 is the same thing and much cheaper but they grip the ball well although for me they are not as well made as the talismans - you need to knock them in during fitting aswell which is a pain - read my tip guide - its on the forum somewhere!

I use a 100 grade sandpaper when I feel that the tip is not holding the chalk properly except that matter u can play the full variety of shots.
