Cue oil

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone could recommend a cue oil which will not (or at least only a little bit) change the colour of the ash, so that the natural almost white colour of the ash will remain.

I know there are some oils which have some white pigments added but I suspect that the pigments will set into the pores and cover the grain filler.

I started using lemon oil after someone on here recommended it. It won't darken your cue and is not sticky like linseed

I use Lemon oil too, basically because I already had some, can't compare it to anything else but it smells nice and is smooth. I think I bought a half litre of it from ebay for about a tenner, I imagine it will outlive me.

I bought 3 small 10ml bottles from amazon.
Good size as they fit nicely into the case.
Which comes in very handy if the butt of the cue starts to feel dry/slippery when you are playing.
Just put a little drop on, buff off with rag and your good to go with no stickiness.

It's ok. Feels real smooth and not that sticky feel you get when you use linseed which takes a few days to dry out so you can play straight away.

If it's shine you want I'd suggest using beeswax then after buffing the wax off rub with A4 paper.

I use Orange on my shaft, and is good: slide without the shine.

I use Danish oil as it dries in about 15-20 minutes and easy to put on.
You can build up a good sheen with it too.
