But mind if you post some pics of your current cue and case? I'm particularly curious about the mahogany case – they don't make stuff like that any more do they? I did find a Hamilton walnut case which looks pretty awesome, wonder anyone here has any experience with that?

    cheers,

Believe it or not, I've got friends who live near Hamilton's and I'd found that case on internet, so I went along for a looksee. The case is for display purposes mainly, although you can buy one if you want; problem is that it weighs about the same as a baby elephant! If you are built like a brick outhouse and lift weights all day, every day then it might be okay for you. If not...

I currently play with a lovely Tony Ions cue which I absolutely love , its a one piece ash cue with a plain ebony butt, everybody on here bangs on about how good Trevor's product is and I'm the kind of person who appreciates the workmanship of cues nearly as much as using 'em so I thought "what the hell", my birthday's approaching I'll treat myself!.

I got in touch with Trevor, we exchanged a few emails and then I rang him to discuss the finer points of my requirements .

The main reason I'm posting this is to hopefully convey how much of a pleasure it's been to correspond with Trevor so far, he's lovely to talk to and extremely knowledgeable even down to divining that I'm lefthanded from the sparse information i've given him, its quite a leap of faith ringing up a stranger and then giving him a lot of money but this process has been very easy so far!.

Ive just ordered the cue and its gonna take a while to make, I'll update this thread when i recieve it but I have to say I'm really impressed so far.
Just out of interest's sake, what kind of cue did you order? What are the specs? And, most importantly, how in the name of the wee man did he work out you're a leftie??

I'd be interested in seeing pics of the case actually. I've seen a few wooden cases and they are beautiful to look at, tend to be quite impractical weightwise though.

I'm up loading pictures now, dont get too excited bout the case as its had a hard life, Trevor was able to tell i'm left handed as i hold the flat of the cue facing 4pm
MY new cue off Trevor is apparently a jp mannock replica, ash shaft spliced with ebony then spliced again with tulipwood then a facing splice in thuya burr, one piece 9.5mm tip

Nice looking ash on those Tony Ions cues! The older ones are very nice, good players too. Like the case, not seen one like that for a while.

Interesting about holding the cue with the flat at 4pm, I didn't know that.

I've already seen Mannock replicas by Trevor; they are quite spectacular! You're doing yourself a real treat there, mate! Only problem is that it might be so beautiful you won't want to play with it!

Lovely cue and case mate! Hmm now the separate bit for the chalk – that's brilliant, somehow we just miss out the little details that make all the difference nowadays

Keith thanks for the heads-up about the Hamilton cases lol. Yea I had my doubts about its feasibility too in terms of lugging it about. The other problem of course is after you treat the cue and give it a nice wipe/polish you'd have to do the case as well! So I suppose the leatherette ones are more popular then.

ADR147 – I saw on your ebay shop you had some nice leather cases (but one-piece though) any chance of getting in some 3/4 or 1/2 jointed cases? Love the clasps on those cases

I've seen some bautiful wooden cases, i really like them, but they do weigh an absolute ton!! Thats why i'll be getting a leather one!

Honestly, don't! Looks-wise, they are the bee's knees. However, they are so nice that you won't want to get them damaged and leather is soft!!

I've already done this and I've gone back to an ali case; looks less good, but is solid, dependable and'll stand up to knocks much better. If you really want to get something nice-looking, I'd recommend a leatherette case; just as cool and beautiful and much more resistant to wear and tear!

It's not leather, it's leatherette and it's a pretty cool case, Johnny Flame!

it is nearly ready waiting for badge
it is that good dominic was drooling over it
i hope it is as good as the other maple one i own which
was made for dominic to use for 2 years
and the double chedder case he owned
the workmanship in the cue is staggering

How much will your new TW cue cost? I'm hoping to order one soon, I heard they run around 300 pounds. True?
