  • Assistance with first cue purchase [new or used sale in the UK]

    Hi All,

I’m looking to purchase my first snooker cue and I’m struggling to find one.

I know already there is no answer to this and I’m not looking for an answer as to what’s the best brand.

my budget was around the £100 mark (could stretch this a little depending on the offers) and from the research I have done I’m looking for the following requirements:

-new or used I don’t mind (if used then in good condition no bends for example)
    -3/4 cue
-For my budget I’m going to be realistic and assume I’m looking at mass produced/machine made/import.
-Length I’m aiming for 58-58.25” as this appears to be best middle ground and most common.
-Im guessing ash for my price range and also would like a
-handmade butt however that could be pushing it.
    - Copper Ferrule with 9.something mm tip.
    - between 18-19oz somewhere in the middle would be great.
    - case and extension butt would be great inclusion but not mandatory, cue is the main thing
-delivery would be required to the UK and not collection in person

Overall just looking for a decent cue that I learn and play well with. Mainly something that’s well built.

if anyone has any links or any for private sale that meet the above spec that would be great thanks!

I'd surgest giving Stuart at Green baize a ring (helped me no end) or contacting Andrew at ADR147 on this forum,
both may be able to help. However, your on the very low end of the budget. you might find getting to circa
    Must practice more!!!

Thanks for the reply so far what I’m thinking is trying to up the budget a little and go for one of the “Taylor made” cues.

apparently they are decent for the money and might make a great starter cue.
