  • First Cue Advice

Hello, recently got into the game and I'm finally looking at buying my first cue as the wonky ones at the club aren't doing it for me. I see a lot of people saying to try before you buy but I live fairly rural and don't have any shops within a reasonable range so not necessarily an option. Budget of around £300 but ideally would like a case/extensions as well. Can anyone recommend good makers in this price range and where to buy from? Help is greatly appreciated - thank you

    welcome to TSF

whereabouts are you - there could be a club or a retailer that you can go and try before buying - always the best option but not always possible.

https://greenbaize.com/ has a huge selection and will give you an idea of what you may and may not like.

    there are other retailers like:
    www.chesworthcues.com

and also ADR147 (on here and has an ebay shop , note he has more available than actually in the shop
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

I'd recommend trying a few and finding out what feels nice, or right to you. Then trying to find something of a similar spec. Maybe ask politely at your local club if you can have a hit. Someone at my local club put up a notice about wanting to learn what was right for them, and they were able to try about 15 cues and then make an informed purchase. Granted not all people want to let you touch their 'precious'

          Do you have a car?
You're less then 2 hours from Rebecca Kenna's shop cuesports Yorkshire where there is a large selection and you can try them.
