  • Clank noise

I’ve got a new 1 piece cue that I makes this noise at times.

I feel like screw back shots it’s more apparent.

Could this be my technique? Or is it the tip or ferrule?

No idea of your standard, but if you can usually play a screw shot then... First take the tip off, check the tennon is secure to the ferrule, no gaps etc. If this is all sound and secure you may have a bigger problem of a loose weight in the butt of the cue to contend with.

Check the tip first, it's usually something like a split in the tip that isn't immediately apparent. Give it a pull all the way around and look to see if it widens at a certain point.
