New player - cue question

Hey folks, only been playing snooker for a bout a month, getting better, using a basic 2 piece Ronnie O cue, struggle getting any spin on the cue ball, used a friends cue last night and could screw / control the ball perfectly, much better than with my own cue.....is this a cue problem or would a new / better tip sort my problems. Cheers

It is mostly down to a good tip and good tecnique, there is a good tipping guide on the forum which was provided by ADR147.
