I find this cue to be probably the best cue I've ever had in my hands, although I have taken it from it's original weight of 17.3oz up to 19oz by adding about 2oz worth of lead tape centered around the cue's balance point so I could keep the balance point where it was originally at 17oz.

I've tried butt-heavy cues and I just don't like them whereas I find a cue with the weight a little more forward seems to encourage a smoother stroke, especially on power shots when every one has a tendency to grip that cue too tight and whack the lightshades sometimes (not me of course as I keep my chin on the cue until after the balls stop moving as I recommend to all my students)

Is 15" balance point not butt heavy?
I would say normal was 17 - 18" with any more being forward less back heavy.

      I'd say, on a 58" cue, that 15" is back-heavy, 16" - 18" is well-balanced and any further forward is forward-balanced to top-heavy.

Having talked to a lot of cuemakers, the consensus is that having the cue balance at a "neutral" point, such as 16" - 18" is the best balance a cue can have. However, some people prefer/are used to a cue that is more butt-heavy, and others a more forward-balanced cue, so there's no "perfect" balance point that'll suit everyone.
Il n'y a pas de problemes; il n'y a que des solutions qu'on n'a pas encore trouvées.

Ask form Tony Wilshaw cues, i like a lot. Prizes are nice and cues made as they fit for you. I have my made to measure 3/4 cue and love it.
