  • Cue Advice

    Hi all

Have just started playing league snooker again after a 20 year break. My current cue is borrowed from a friend and slightly warped. I am therefore looking to buy a new cue in the £50-£100 price range but wouldnt know where to start. Would appreciate if you guys could give me some advice and possible recommendations. Also, my friend has a Barracuda which he raves about. Are these good cues?

    Thanks

    Nick

Few members say they're good cues, no idea what reserve is however but worth a go. Think someone said they sell for 80-150 on ebay

Craftsman have a cue for 110

Check ebay daily for mastercraft and craftsman and you may find yourself a bargain :P

    not sure bout barracuda's though

Also why is your username eric XD

if its a 6 or 7+ yr old barracuda gold medal, its pretty decent for the price. but the new ones r crap. everywhere ive seen that sells them, hav warped, evn tho they stand up straight in the shelf. and they play very dead. no feel for shots.

id say go a bit more than 100 and go with mastercraft or craftsman or evn welsh. hear they make good cues =]

          Hi Nick,

I supply Cue Craft cues and cases etc.

The cue pictured below is four piece machine spliced set with leatherette case, mini-butt and long ext., 9.5mm tip, 17 - 17.5 oz @ £100!! Great value for a UK manufactured cue. Order via email to cueist@genie.co.uk.

I can also get customised cues made to your own specifications, e.g. tip size, weight, jointing required, length.

          Cheers, Dave, Snookerpoolman :snooker:

            Thanks all

Eric was an old nickname of mine.

His Barracuda is a few years old and he paid a lot of money for it. I have seen some new ones on eBay but following your advice I will give them a miss
