Should be ok in the case, wrap the case up in paper and mark 'fragile' (or whatever that is in your language) in a few places in big letters on the parcel. Insure it and off ya go

huh... whats wrong with the cue?

Are you sending it to unclevit for some minor alteration or customizing?

What you can go is to find some hard cardboard to wrap the alu case then use the postage paper over it. Remember to indicate the postage as a gift so as to save on the custom & tax at the receiving end.

I would wrap the case in bubble wrap and then put the whole thing inside stiff cardboard box and definitely mark it 'for repairs' or 'billiards sample' although I recently sent one to Britain with 'billiard sample' on it and they still wanted 45quid duty and VAT.

It does work with Canada most times however as long as you assign a low value to it (but insure it at the proper value).

I wouldn't advise on that cos i would suggest you save a little longer for a brand new cue.

The thai currency is stronger against USD, thus we are now paying a slightly higher than usual price if we are to have the cue from thailand.

                Ai ya......

I just throw away the cylinder cupboard that Mastrecraft used to send the cue to me.
Otherwise I can give it to you since you are from Malaysia too...

                SORRY

you are absolutely right. Custom a cue here and have it shipped to M'sia will only add some extra cost to the total (of sending the old cue here, have it reworked on the shaft and original butt, then send it back to the sender). If one wants a quality shaft and does not mind the beauty of the arrows too much, any UT cue will be a good playing one.
                  It's in the Shaft

Maybe you can check with those senior from your club cos i remember clearly that there are some low key cue makers in Malaysia who does custom jobs.

I have lost contact with them,if not i would have got them to do my cue. If you are only try to replace the shaft, it will be wiser to get a new cue otherwise the main buck of the cost will be on getting a new shaft n 2 way postage. You will have a spare shaft which is gonna be going to waste.

hmm i thought of getting a new cue too,but i have analyzed the following :

                      1) modified old cue vs.new cue (quotes from UT)
                      USD$120 + 2 way shipping is < USD$165 + 1way shipping
                      (same design plain balck ebony)

                      2) new cue (surely get a 1 piece)
                      USD $ 165 + 1 way shipping + cost of case

any which way, if i buy a new cue it will be more expensive compared to modifying.difference RM396+ extra shipping cost for shaft and RM545 for new cue.don;t you guys think so?

new cue or shaft will surely be from UT but im in the process of thinking of buying a new cue or shaft, when i make up my mind i will contact unclevit.

Don't know about you.. but I would go for a new one..
With good selected tournament grade shaft and UT perfect cue balancing.. nice butt design.. I think is worth to pay another RM145.. UT is retiring soon..
Get a new one while you still can..

                        Just my opinion..
