Well, no. It's most certainly not likely, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to see how they do it. Hasn't JP got something on his website about making them? Oh well, we can but dream.

The JP cue making video is not brilliant and very much a "BBC filler"

US pool cue making is a very different process than snooker cue making.

With US pool cue maker it is largely about working with machines. Most of them have many metal and cue lathes and automatic equipment with power feed and so on. They are quite obsessed with how precise their machines need to be and things like that. Inlays is a big part of US pool cue. Some guys on that list have CNC equipment which allows them to make sort of 3D inlays. Shafts are usually turned with bandsaw or router with a tapering bar--mostly with the help of CNC. Finish is done in a spray booth which can cost thousands of dollars or more.

They will call you crazy if you tell them you are making cues with hand planes. LOL
