I dont think Mike (perpetualboredom) was being sarcastic mate, it was meant to be a joke, if you look at his own collection http://www.oldcues.co.uk/index.php?id=allcues
he knows his onions when it comes to old cues - and would (i hope ) agree your H Nelmes & Co cue is indeed very rare (the pics are even rarer it seems, where's your mate who was going to put them on )

Judging by the name of the thread I'm sure you've already seen Dave Smith's article on the subject. In term of non current generation it says it all.

What about playing devils advocate.Modern cues that may become classics e.g. an early Parris,an early H&O,a Robin,a N.W.an Aurora,a Shelton,a Deroo,a T.W. or a Wooldridge custom.I am sure other makers are worthy but isnt the intrinsic value/worth of a cue, subject to your own personal viewpoint .Perhaps this could be another thread.

All the old name cues as I call them, Tom Reece, Peal, Willie Smith, Claude Faulkiner, George Gray, Walter Donaldson, Lindrum etc..

Then the real rarities such as Madame Strebor or the pre 100 break Joe Davis cues.

More modern cues would be parris postcode cue, original black plate Hunt & Obyrne, the limited edition cue made by Robin Cook & Dave Couts, Geet Sethi cue or one of the Mike Hallet cues by Glover cues I think they made 2 in 1993?

And the one I would really like to get my hands on Joe Davis's actual playing cue which I believe is in the possession of Thustons in Liverpool.

Has anybody seen a George Chenier cue????
Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!
