  • Cue Craft Marksman

    Hi all,
I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks but this is my first post.

I've been playing snooker with friends perhaps once a week for the last 6 months and now feel ready to buy my own queue. I have no intention of joining a club though.

I know everyone's got their own opinion about different makes etc, but I'd just like to know if the Cue Craft Marksman 3/4 is a decent/good cue for someone to start with. If not, is there any chance you could name a cue (and make) of something you think is better.

I had originally thought about getting the Cue Craft Carlton which was closer to my budget, but then decided to put a bit extra in for the Marksman which I presume is better.

    Thanks,
    DJ.

I would look at Mastercraft cues. Better cues for similar money (or even slightly less). Have a look at their website, or ADR on here sells them.
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Thanks nevets for your thoughts. I've had a look <http://www.mastercraft-cues.co.uk/10444/info.php?p=2> and do like the Black Prince, This is slightly more than I was going to pay (being £140), but if it is really that much of a better cue than the Cue Craft Marksman, perhaps I need to wait a little longer.

      Does ADR sell these cheaper?

Doing a quick search, you can get a black prince for £130 which IMO is a very good price. I think ADR sells at same price as the website.

Put "cue craft", "mastercraft" and any others into the search function and you'll find plenty of opinions on these cues.

By the way, why don't you intend to join a club? If you've got a cue.......
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Thanks, I've now found them for £130 (and £147 case package). They all say 4-6 week delivery, is this normal, or do you think I could go direct to Mastercue and see if they'd it for the same price but a slightly quicker turnaround?
I said I didn't intend to join a club just because I'm nowhere good enough and I don't have too much spare time. Perhaps in a few years I'd reconsider but certainly not any time soon.
          Many thanks for your help.

I suppose it would depend on their stock. ADR147 would be the best man to ask, not just to sell, but to advice as well.

You don't have to be any good to join a club, anyway I notice you already have a 30+ break so you can't be too bad! They will be glad of your business. You will only improve if you play regularly and practice!

PS Use the coaching advise on the forum, there's some really good stuff. Particularly from a Canadian chap called Terry Davidson, always willing to help.
