  • How do 3/4 Cues Work?

Hi, my current cue has a join in the middle and I was wondering where is the join(s) on 3/4 cues and how many are there?

I know they have a butt section but do they also join in the middle aswell. If not, does this mean a large case is needed to carry them in?

They are joined at approx 14-16 " or there abouts and there is no middle joint and the case is approx 3/4 the size of a full one piece case .

Thanks, and are they better than a middle join cue?

I would say on the whole they are are consistently a better hitting cue than a centre jointed one , thats just my opinion and would probably shared by a lot of others .

Thats not to say that a center jointed cue is a bad player , there are probably loads out there that will suit you and will feel great to play with .

Given the choice tough i would go for a 3/4 alll day long not just because they are more popular , i just feel they are close playing wise and feel to a one piece .

          But look on this cue

There is like a ring halfway up the cue, the picture on the left.

Yes you can get cue with the two joint but they are just mass produced cues made to look attractive . If youre not serious abot the game and dont want to spend much then they will be ok .

If youre serios about the game and are going to play regular with a hope to improving then i would fo for something decent from the off .

So the 3 piece cues like the one above aren't any good?

I would not recommend one to anyone , unless they were just an occassional player who just liked a knock about say once a week , and then i would,nt pay more than £35 for one .

It all depends on what you want out of the game , and how often you intend to play etc .
