Snooker cue collet help

I am in the process of making a cue lathe, it's made from a sowing machine stepable motor, which will be pulleyed to a lathe chuck mounted on a head stock. I am having difficulty in trying to find some collets made from plastic, these being there to protect the ends of the cues.

those portable lathes are rubbish.

only using the rest part, going to build my own headstock.

you still might find it too fragile.

not any good ones no! i have been in the same position in the end i just bought a proper lathe!

well I'm going to make a thread on the building of it. reason being i need to be able to easily dismantle the lathe as i have limited working area.
