Cue Size and butt diameter?

Hi, i'm just playing snooker for a couple of months and because i don't want to change the cue everytime i go to the billard hall I'm thinking about buying a cheap handmade cue (for example by dunns or Peradon). I just don't know if the regular size and butt-diameter is right for me. I'm about 1,79 or 1,80 meters tall and just want to aks if the regular (butt) size of a cue like this one is right for me?

That looks like a decent cue to get you started. You can always get a 'better' cue down the line. However, if you become attached to this cue you might want to stay with it and who knows?

Speaking from my own exp. for the past 14yrs I used a JP Elite, 25mm butt. Looking back now, it was just too thin. I've got used to using a 28mm butt now, but some days it still feels like I'm using a tree trunk. Getting there slowly :P

So yeah, a 29mm should be fine. Start off as you mean to go forward. Good luck
