              That maple shaft looks so beautiful, and the finish on the butt looks so perfect!

              Elegance in its simplicity.

              Mike I love your work so much.

              If you dont mind me asking, do you normally use a slightly slimmer taper, a slightly thicker taper, or one the same as your ash taper, on your regular maple cue?

                  same taper, but if it were mine i would always make maple slimmer. i've always found maple lacking 'bite' so this helps i think.

                    no. i chose not to cos i don't do many round butts and did not have any badges left. besides which, the joint serves as a nameplate on that particular cue.
