  • Will Hunt cue

Yesterday I have met one guy who is interested to get some snooker coaching. We started to chat and he showed me a cue that he got from a friend couple of days ago. I was shocked when I saw that it is WIll Hunt cue numbered 69. He said that he has a certificate etc. Can anyone estimate the worth of that cue? I mean what is the worth for such an early edition of Will Hunt cues

I will post pictures of the cue if anyone is interested to see it.

Seen a few of these . The coach , John Woods at the Hurricane Rooms Kings Cross, uses a very nice one . Most i've seen a plain black ebony butts .

      I'm going to hazard a guess at £450 .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

        neil and vucko:

If it is a genuine Will Hunt Black Plate with serial number 69 then it should be one of his early ones with no butt socket (unless someone has installed one later).

If this cue is genuine and in mint condition the value would be in the neighbourhood of 2,000GBP however there are a lot of fakes out there so any buyer should beware.

I had a genuine WH BP number 230 which was worth around 800quid with extensions. Bit too stiff for me though

Blimey Terry ......did not realise they went for that amount of money !

So , these sell for more than Hunt & O'Bryne cues .

            Neil & Vucko:

I have to correct my last post...it should have read around $2,000(CAN) rather than GBP. That works out to around 1,300GBP or so however I did see a couple on a Chinese snooker site, one was a low serial number in mint condition for 17,000Yuan and another for 12,000Yuan which puts them both well above 1,000GBP. (I think the Chinese collectors have way too much money.)

It just seems to be the low serial number Will Hunts and especially with the classic plain ebony butt. These new Will Hunt cues are going for around 400GBP, perhaps a touch more if they are a good one. I had one I sold for $700 which is around 400GBP

THanks for your replies. Well the cue is quite bent tbh, but still it was a very nice thing to see such an old cue, a bit of history. As soon as I get in touch with that guy I will take pictures for you. I will ask him to get the certificate as well. The cue has no butt socket. And interestingly the cue is in mint condition, with no scratches, as I have realized the guy who won it in some competition almost never played with it. Pity it is bent.

easy enough to straighten a cue.

I saw a cue from Will Hunt on the site of David Coutts. Will Hunt No.1 Green plate. Price £ 330. I do'nt know if he has already been used. As far as I know, Will Hunt is retaird. But nice looking cue.

                          .
It clearly says on his site that "Will Hunt cues are part made to Will's specifications and then finished off by Will himself"
Nice looking cue, but not made by Will
