Mike Wooldridge - *NEW* 'BlackSpin' Ferrule System

Wow!!!!!! I am definitely ready to go black Mike!! I am new to the forum and this is my first post I knew there was a reason I stayed up so late when I should be sleeping before work! Ok better go dream of a new black tip!! ☺ (don't tell the mrs)!!!

Ps. when should I place my order for a shark for my birthday in July?!

Pps. I have recently rediscovered my love for the game after realising most of the shot is done before you even get to the table!!! Focus on the object ball young skywalker if only I had been told that 20 years ago! Thanks TSF

Looks and sounds brilliant Mike, very innovative indeed. Hey Mike, can you check out my last post please?...it would be fantastic to get a person of your calibre on board for our cause....and by the way Mike, you're right..."Once you go black, there's no going back"...just ask my missus

There are so many sexual connotations but I'm not going get shafted into thinking I can lengthen this silly metaphor out into a self-erecting long lasting thread just for Mike pleasure and enjoyment

Anyways, nice to hear some innovations taking place in ferrules Mike! I recently started using a black fibre ferrule supplied on an old Gauthier cue but mine is fitted the traditional way with a tenon and collar. I don't like the way mine hits at the moment (almost plasticy like) but maybe I need to have you do up a shaft for me or change mine into your ferrule system.

Mike, are you able to make a new 30 inch shaft for my 2-piece cue with your new black ferrule installed? If I send the butt out to you, are you able to do up a few shafts for me at the length I'm looking for? I will only specify length and tip size and leave the rest up to you.

Oh, by the way, the black ferrules do help in aiming as mentioned on your web site. I can state this to be true from actual experience using a black fibre ferrule now.

i got my cue with the new black spin ferrule yesterday, to be honest when i first saw it i was a bit sceptical, but i must say that there is a monstrous difference between the blackspin and the regular brass ferrule, i found that the feel on the shot is very very solid something like you would find when you play will a well seasoned tip, its like hitting the ball without the ferrule with just the tip. from what i found is that along with the feel there is also less cue ball deflection when playing with side, you will notice this on mid-long range slow or draw shots if you have a blackspin ferrule. it also looks really cool.

They are made and finished to size on the cue so can be any size I want.

Yes I could, but I am 'shut' right now while I catch up on orders. When shop re-opens, I should be in a position to do this, although I do hate making extra shafts for cues...

I'm puzzled why your cue sounds funny though. Maybe it's not quite fitted solidly. Do you know exactly what that material is on your cue?

This is very true and can only be realised when you actually try it. It's a side benefit, but quite a big one.

                              I'm intrigued by the concept.

Can they be manufactured in a colour to match the familiar brass ferrules?
