masur birch, its a very distinctive and looks nice under different kinds of lighting. Not my cuppa but very flashy for the show off type player!

I've seen another Parris cue like that at a tournament earlier this year. Young lad called Sean Hopkin who is being sponsored by Shaun Murphy has an identical cue in 1 pc. Its very nice but as I say just not for me.

Does not look like Masur (or Karelian) birch to me; very pale, more white than light gold then mine and the streaks are darker (near black than dark gold) and more widely spaced than I have seen before.
            Could be wrong though
            Up the TSF! :snooker:

It looks like the ash is as white as the splice. . Could the picture be slightly over exposed too ?

It does look like masur birch if you use the cuebuilder, however the colour in that looks like more of a cream colour. Probably the camera flash making it look lighter than it is.

it is karelian birch - an idea stolen from oldgit and myself who did it first!

You sure? I dont think that wood selection is even on the cue builder. Masur Birchwod is though.

it's the same thing different name - we imported it from Finland and were the first people to put it on a cue. yes very sure it was because i have a Sgian-dubh made of it which gave us the idea.
