There are a few threads regarding Parris cues, many positive and some negative. This forum is a place for enthusiast and players to share experiences, expertise and opinion, as people are entitled to, and long may it continue. As to whether individuals choose to take note of experience or expertise over opinion is up to them and it may cost them getting them a very very fine Parris cue.

On a personal note I have had a couple of John Parris cues and both have been very nice but they've not had that special unique feeling for me so haven't stayed with me for long. Now I would only ever order an Ultimate direct from Parris Cues or buy a used Ultimate or Special cue that particularly took my fancy.

I have the same except for Allen I thought recently I read somewhere he was using a Mastercue or a Hunt&Osborne, ?
But also in the official 16, Lee has a Parris as well and Hawkins is No 17, included in the Masters becuase of Lee's suspension.

barry hawkins cue was from micky / gary taylor. not 100% sure about walden i would need to check but i thought it was one of trevors cues. Mark D's cue is not a parris its an old cue with 4 tulip splices added. not one splice level as i recall!

Don't know where you get your info from at times Andrew but I can confirm having been in Gloucester only 2 months back that I saw at close hand a lot of players cues and could clearly see badges and brands and I have no reason to lie. without wanting to sound like I'm blowing my wn trumpet, I really know more than most about cues and brands amongst the pros. I appreciate you know some stuff but I'm around tournaments fairly often and have a few contacts in the game so I really do know my stuff.

Also noted the Allen using Parris at Antwerp page on JP's sites, I will see if I can find that posting about Mastercue/H&Ob.

Allens is definately a parris, seen it when he was playing a match at our club last year.

I asked JP about the design on Judd Trump's Ultimate cue when I had some work done on my parris Ultimate last year. John said that it was a Special and that he and Matt Selt had popped into the shop because Matt needed some work doing to his cue and Judd literally picked up the Special cue off the wall rack because he liked the design. After playing a few shots with it he decided to buy it there and then! On occasions JP puts made to measure cues on his rack with different designs to the norm, and this was one of those cues (I remember there being caretto wood and purple veneers in the design).

Most players will try cues out before they use them. I should imagine most players have tried loads of cues out from all makers but the fact remains the majority of top pros choose parris for a good reason, his cues are players. There is this myth that JP puts extra effort or uses better quality shafts for the pros, maybe someone like Ronnie may get preferential treatment in that respect because he is quite fussy and the best player in the game. However that story about Judd just proves that these players can and mostly do use the same quality cues as the rest of us get.

has anyone more pictures of his cue? i like the design, it seems to be 4 secondary splices in ebony over white veneers.

hi, can you tell me what is the different between a parris ultimate cue and their normal collection? (apart from the price)

Just because he's not an active member on this site doesn't mean people should continually slag him, and half these people don't even own Parris cues yet still they have an opinion, usually biased towards other cue makers who do use this site.
If you have a problem with a cue contact the cuemaker, don't come on here slagging people, that damages reputations and isn't the way to go about any business. This should be made a rule on this site from now on!
