I’m looking into getting my cue refinished/regrained, although its only 12 months old it has a distinct blue tinge to the shaft. Presumably its because I use the kamui chalk, which I like but its very messy. I‘ve tried to clean it off, and most seems to come off however it still leaves the wood slightly stained. I’m therefore thinking that the only way to get rid of it is to get it refinished, and regrained at the same time, as it appears that it wasn't done that well originally.
I’ve looked into the threads on here and it doesn’t seem like that much work to do it yourself. A little bit of stained woodgrain filler and some oil etc, and that’s it. Which isn’t a lot, for the money that some of the cuemakers are charging for this service.
Recently I’ve also found that aurora has a product for the regraining process, has anyone used it?
Would you advise me to do this myself ? or to send it away and who to?
