Cue Guru No 27 - The start of a journey.

I reserved Cue Guru No 27 in April 2011 , the number has significance for me in that my eldest son was born on 27th June , my youngest on 27th March , my wedding anniversary is 27th May and my parents anniversary is 27th September. I wanted a very specific design of quad secondary cocobolo splices over pale veneers , at the time Jason was just starting out and was only doing single front splice , single veneer designs , I told Jason I would be more than happy to wait until he was confident and skilful enough to craft my design , I am glad I waited. Jasons communication was perfect , helped no doubt by the very specific guidelines I gave him , even to the taper graduation and the fact that I only ever asked a handful of questions and never pestered him for constant updates , such was my confidence that Jason would deliver what I wanted.The cue arrived on Wednesday 30th January 2013 and I must state quite categorically that it is perfect. I have owned cues by all the top makers , MW,TW,Robin,Parris,Kev Muncaster,Andy Gibbs,Crispiain Jones,Dave Brown,Andy Travis,Jim Evans ( another fledgling,up and coming) etc,etc and I can say that Jasons craftmanship is right up there with the very best.I have not put verniers on the cue to check the taper and I have not used a steel rule to measure the splices for " millimetre perfection ", I have not put a straight edge to it to check the line , I have just picked it up, sighted it and marvelled .Jasons attention to detail and sympathy with natural materials to turn an idea/design into a reality is simpy outstanding, this cue needless to say will never find its way on to a second owner , except for one of my lucky boys who will inherit it , I have four boys so might have to ask Jason to make me another three cues , expensive though that might be.My only problem is I promised myself this cue for my 50th birthday , another milestone in my life , but that is not until 10th February so this cue will not hit a ball until then and believe me when I say , I cant wait to take this lady for " a turn around the tables ", I will let you know how I go on.Thank you Jason , cant say more than that.
