hi,
i have a john parris cue, ive had this since around 1986.
i used to play a lot of pool back then, in fact i was obsessed with the game.
i purchased the cue while at a tournament.
in 1988 we had a celeb pool night at our social club and the guest was Jim rempe who was around about that time world champion at 9 ball i believe.
anyway i played him that night and i had pre rubbed out a section on the cue and bought a special pen of what type i cant remember and got him too sign it, i then re lacquered/varnished too protect it.
back to the cue, one piece, ash with ebony butt and 8mm tip (too small for snooker).
id like too find out how much it is worth, whether the autograph would add value ( i get the impression he didnt like doing autographs, well he wouldn't sign my mates program but then he had just been beaten by him)
i dont know if its for sale, i just thought about it the other day, its just in its coffin box where its been for the past 15 years, if its worth a lot i would sell it but if only £100 or £200 i would let it sit for the grandchildren, if they know how took look after stuff, unlike my son who i never let use it as he is a cue abuser lol.
i never really got too use it much, i just couldn't get on with it like i could with my baggie old 2 piece with no known make.
i would like to try too find out roughly how old it is and any opinions on value.
ive read here about fake john parris cues, i have no proof it is genuine but no reason to believe it is not the real thing.
thanks,
gary..........
