  • Riley Tombstone Cue

    Hi all
Found this Riley tombstone which is in rough state, butt splices splice at joins, missing ebony by badge. no ferrule, some initials etched in (not deep) near the weight stamp. In all not too bad but just needs tlc by someone who knows what they are doing
Anyone think it is worth refurbing? Value?

The initials at the weight stamp are the cue makers initial and the date stamp. A was 1932, B 1933 and so on. I used to know the makers names think there was three but forgotten over the years.

the additional stamps I looked at http://www.thecuecollector.com/EJRileyWeightStamps.html, but if you have further information that would be great.
Sorry when I said initials etched I did not mean these stamps, if you look below and to the right of the weight stamp you can make out on the lower edge. I don't seem to have the clear photo on my phone anymore.

I'd be interested in a complete list of those dates, as I've got sequential Joe Davis tombstones that don't seem to agree with that principal.

Remember that fine Andrew, I was told that by a very old Riley employee who worked with the three cuemakers who made the Tombstone cues, my all time favourite cue and I do not have any left.

I think it only applied to your basic Tombstone from the 1930s
