if i were to take the cue to someone to be refurbished would that be the best option considering its age to make it last a while ? sorry if this sounds like a silly question

not a silly question at all

a cue is only worth what you are prepared to pay for it

being a centre joint it will probably not gain in value after any refurb.

If you want it for a playing cue then all well and good - for you
        Up the TSF! :snooker:

Are you buying it mainly for the Parris name ??
Do you really want a centre jointed cue ???
Lots of better cues in that price range

Yeah kind of the parris name, I'm looking to replace my tony wilshaw cue because of a few of the specifications but don't have a great deal of money to spend but in that price range would be good what do you suggest ?

Wouldn't buy this one. A machine spliced centre jointed cue get not better when jp made it. Forget the badge, look a the cue.

Funny how things have changed over the years these days people generally only consider a 1pc or 3/4 jointed cue back in the day players won world titles with centre jointed cues thinking of John Spencer, Dennis Taylor etc.
Even Ronnie had one made once with a centre joint to carry around when he planned to travel by motor bike, so although there not popular today they can be good buys ( any brand not just Parris ) for anyone not bothered about where the joint is, especially at the prices they go for, and they are very easy to carry around had this cue been a 3/4 jointed master it would have flew out.

crap machine splicing, not even half a job at getting them level, just looks a bad cue. personally i wouldnt pay £20 for it

be very suprised if parris has a finger jointing machine in his workshop ergo he aint made it. if he has done them by hand that would explain their state
