Slept on it and now I think it's like some tropical plant, maybe a palm, putting out fresh leaves going upwards. I usually defer to plain black ebony for myself but I do like this one.

Wrong, a fair price is what the consumer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to let go of the cue for. Sellers don't have to let the cue go for any price and consumers are all willing to pay different prices, as anyone who'd done basic economics would understand; that's why a demand curve is a curve, not a single dot on a graph. Sellers likewise, vary in their pricing, letting goods sell at different levels. The intersection is the market price.

Of course, I'm gathering different consumer price preferences here for a reason, because no two consumers will be willing to pay the same price. The median price is a useful tool, if you have the information.

A decent Glover seems to be £500+, £400+ for a Owens, Robin Cues are good value but someone said he only exports now, so I guess he's making more on cues than when he sold in the UK? Maybe an expert can inform us please?

As I said before its not for everyone.

It has a story behind the design. Not a very in depth story I might add.

When going through the design I always wanted to be different from others. I have always been like that. My wife's favourite colour is green, hence the green. I love the Brazilian Tulipwood, my 2 sons picked the white and I thought the black filled in what was left nicely.

I went through many designs and decided on that one. I know I will not see another player using a cue with that design anywhere. Plus, I loved the fact my wife and kids took an interest in it.

I see what you mean about the palm tree look.

That's great, it's a family cue. Just don't let them play with it! lol. Sweet story.

Ok, so I'm fed up with all these kiln cues.

I want to go back to a time when a cue was made out of ash/maple that had been sitting in a big shed doing nothing for 24yrs, except drying out the natural way. Stronger, more feel, traditional.

Married to a low throw ferrule, maybe titanium. Hand spliced over 9mths with the shaft reaching the butt in one piece, not made of odds and sods then jointed with dowels (the modern way of making cues it appears). Then capped off with the finest elk imaginable. No laminated tips throwing the cue ball all over the place, like a rock. Hand selected, treated and hardened elks, as used by world champions.

Would £600 be outrageous for all of this or fair?

You should know you have set yourself up as an expert but your lack of knowledge grows everyday as does your meaningless post count

Jonathan Lonergan done me a spot on cue for under £300 with mini butt and extension in ash to my specs with a stiff shaft and nice chevrons very good value for money considering what the established makers are charging been very impressed with it plays like a dream tbh.

Shut ya face son of gofer.

We all know air dried is superior, the best cues were always made this way. Joints, pointless lumps of metal in the middle of a cue, dreadful. Buttplugs; Ronnie doesn't need one, more trash ruining a cue.
