  • cue joints

i am making a 3/4 cue with mini butt, i want to be able to use the mini butt on the three quarter length (tight spaces around pub pool tables) of cue but cant seem to be able to find a supplier who will match the threads, has anybody got any tips on where to purchase these. Peradon does sell their cues to this specification.
to clarify, the 3/4 length to have female centre joint, quarter length to have male end and butt joint, and the mini butt to have male end that will work with female end of 3/4 length.

Dave Coutts sometimes has cue joints for sale . Most cue makers who do repairs also have boxes of old joints taken out of cues and perhaps you could buy a set off one of them. One other alternative would be to 4/5 joint your existing butt so that it has 2 x joints i.e. if shaft is 42 " and your butt is say 16 " then a joint at half way down the butt , at 8 " , gives you a cue of 50 " for tight tables .This is much easier to do than trying to source a joint for your mini butt + you havent got to carry your mini butt around with you. I have done this successfully in the past . The benefit is that if you use a quick release joint it takes seconds to take the short butt off , play your shot and put it back together , then carry on playing. It might only add an ounce or so , weight wise as well. You could even put a joint in , minus the brass disc faces to create an invisible joint , again something I have had done in the past .

They are in a way. I want them to be interchangeable though. Butt to centre joint
