How many shots you took with it in 8 years ?
That's alot of impact without the traditional banging the cue on.the floor
And you begrudge paying dave about 25 quid for it sorting ?

No I don't begrudge paying for something to be fixed if it was my fault you can clearly see there is no glue on half of the splice ! As for its use I don't use it much as I use my Trevor or an Andy travis .... Not only that with the state of the shaft having the bit glued on the bottom that's rough as hell in my eyes then I was told that's normal most cue makers do it ? Is that true ?

yes send pics please to colinharrison131'msn.com. been dealing with dave and simon at craftsman for 20 years and both gentlemen, I have used cues by most makers out there, Robert Osborne, parris x 4, cuecraft, peradon oncluding a cue wizaed, omin, coutts hunt etc, and would have to say cues from craftsman as good as any available, think more to story than what dreamboy saying as think from own experience dave and simon would have sorted for you

I have a friend that had a similar experience with a cue from craftsman
              Broken splice on shaft
I told him because he'd had it a year dave would likely charge him for the repair, he didn't.
Think if you've had the cue that length of time (8 years) any expectation or even complaints about the workmanship are laughable.
You say you don't use it so easy enough to write it off as experience.

I've read some utter toss on here over the years but this thread takes the biscuit. 8 years, unbelievable.

Playing a few weeks ago it started making a hollow tinny sound thought it was the tip changed it same sound so I stopped using it until last night and I discovered quite quickly what was the hollow sound !!! One of the splices on the joint fell off ! And on inspection of the shaft that is shocking too there is a piece of ash just glued onto the bottom of the shaft as if the shaft was too short so they thought il just glue this there no one will know ! Rang them today and the attitude was not the best and was first told it's not their problem as they only offer a 6 month cover on any cue they sell and that the cue I had isn't even one of their builds they just bought them in and stuck their own badge on it ! And that it's only a cheap cue anyway ? £180 I paid 8 years ago ok it's no parris or Trevor white but £180 is a fair chunk of money I'd say !!! I have pictures of the cue and will upload them if anyone wants to see them but my advice is stay away from craftsman cues ..... Iv now orders an Andy travis instead
You likes getting yer money's worth ... are you one of those guys that squeezes every last drop of chalk from a block keeps it a year or three. Still watching a black and white portable playing around with yer Ferguson video star ...

8 years of pleasure one bit of pain - not a bad return on 180

I also had an old craftsman, 9 years old......Even if I had an issue with it, I'd never go and ask for free fixing lol Come on....8 years!
would you go to your car dealer complaining a piece was badly built 8 years ago and looking for free fix? You can guess his answer...

Given the post ended with 'I've ordered an Andy Travis cue instead' I hope Andy had been explicitly clear whether he offers an 8 year (or lifetime if it's not used much) warranty.

Think you will find a lot of cues are manufactured this way .

Did you store the cue in cold conditions or where it had temperature changes , this may have contributed to the issue .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !
