Wanted: 59" one piece ash cue

Anyone got something reasonably cheap ? just got the feeling i need a longer cue and want to give one a go without breaking the bank.
Stu had a lovely Ton Praram that i saw on Saturday but was a 3/4, and that's against my religion
    Ideally 59" 9.8 18 oz ish

Better ( cheaper ) just cutting down a mini butt to make any current cue 59" in total ?

If you bought a cue at 59", and it doesn't feel right,

how would you know if it's a perfect length for you , but a non suitable cue ?

All you can do is see if you hold it right on the end of the 59" to cue with.

Holding it at less than the end, might just mean getting a 58" cue with a different balance point ?

maybe ? does that make sense ?

I tend to hold my cues (58") right at the very end on too many shots so thought maybe it is worth a try?

I hear you. Still cheaper to obtain a 1" mini butt to try it first.

Either that, buy a more expensive JPU at 59" and sell on at a profit if you don't like it.

This method involves a wee wait for the JPU to arrive though.

The one who partially owns the forum, and who doesn't need to use Panjo ?

                      http://www.greenbaize.com/maximus-ultimate-cues/

They have a few one piece 59 inch cues, £375.00. It's cheap compared to many other cue makers.

Not having a go but how about experimenting with shorter cueing instead? I'm always surprised that cue makers will say use a 58" cue if you're 6 foot. I'm 6ft and I only use 56" of my 58" cue. Hendry was the same, holding the cue up the butt. I deliberately adjusted this length because this was the point where my forearm made a 90 degree angle to the cue (the recommended position) and it elicited a bridge to ball of 8-9 inches. I used to hold the butt end with a 12" bridge to ball. I moved up the butt and gradually reduced this BtB on the advice of a WS coach. In the Ronnie show, he often mentions that a player has a nice short bridge to ball. Selby has one, Ronnie, Wilson, most of them. It leads to more accuracy and control. The only exception of a great potter having a longer BtB was Jimmy and it caused a lot of cue ball control issues, he'd lose it way more than Hendry. Alex was the same, messy with the CB. I'd be interested to hear how long Tom147's BtB is. Shorter cueing, compact stance, the way to go. Even if a 6ft player does need a 58" cue, the only person who'd need a 59" cue would be someone who is 6'4" tall and that would be according to the misleading advice of some famous cue makers. No, ahem(!) names.

Never really looked to see my bridge length to be honest, I'll have a think about it in while when next frame starts
