well I played with the banana for many years, it had an old wood joint which was changed to brass joint when it cracked
Never the same.
then I bought the DS cue and love it.
So, to your question, I did not like the old straightened cue but the new cue was straight and I did get in with the new cue

It's difficult to know how much if these things are between the ears or whether the faults i.e. a bend, really affect the shots to make a difference.
We're all very fragile with change when it comes to snooker cues!
My dad's cue is bent, he's had it over 30 years and its basically just warped over time.
He tried moving to a new straight cue a few years back and couldn't pot a thing. I guess it's just a case of playing with what you're used to.

I tend to agree, if you use something different there's a fair chance it may be different!
What ever you use (within the realms of adequate), it's just a case of getting use to it. I think we struggle as new cues (whether bent or not) don't feel like the old one so if we don't pot like a demon there must be something wrong with it.
so was john spencer's and ken Doc's - so lets get this right if Hendry and Joe Davis also had bent cues then how many world championships have been won with bent cues...?
Phone call in morning
"hello John Parris, Hi can I order a new ultimate please 1 piece in the traditional style 58.25 long 180z 9.3 tip lovely arrows like a tigers bum please."

"Alright son, mind how ya go now. Is there anything else, before I pop off down the old Camden tawwwn, cos I needs to buy me greeesen 2 thousan before the bloody tawwwwn closes up - me Mrs been goin on one again saying I'm goin grey before my time and its doin her nut in cos is like sleeping with bloody Santa innit!"
"Oh yes John there is one more thing."
"Go on my son - I ain't got all bleedin day what is it?"
"I was wondering can you make it bent?"
"Oh that's no problem Byrom me ol sparra, why did you not just bleedin say this in the first place innit cos got plenty of them bad boys in the rack just waiting to fly out the door so just come on down n I'll sort ya one in two minutes me old son - if you want a George Michael you've come to the right geezer."
Maybe the thread title should have been,"Has the Snooker World Championships ever been won with a straight cue?."
I didn't realise so many players (great players) had a bent cue.
Does it really need to be that straight then.
You try a new cue out, it feels lovely, just what you've been looking for, pot balls off the wall with it and then notice a slight bend; so why put it back in the rack and start looking again when you might not find one that feels and plays how you want it to!
So, that makes a fair few snooker players who became World Snooker Champion using a bent cue. I winder how many of the other players used one?

Warped in a week and a half that's rapid? I've just read this and realised I've left my cue in the car since Thursday, hot, cold, hot, cold.. hopefully it's warped and I can knock in some breaks or win a world title!
