Hello all! I am a new player and I don't have too much to give for a cue for now. I want the best quality I can take with about 50 pounds. Where should I look? I am really considering in buying a Dunns one, the cheapest for 90 pounds, which includes packing and shipping in this price. Is it any good? I have heard that I really should look for a BCE or a Riley...

I have nothing to say about Riley or Peradon. Good and cheap cues.
I will have Dunns cues next week, so I can post here my opinion about them.
And I will be independent, and will tell you if they are just rubbish, or fabulous cues.
They are not as good as Professional Parris cues or Trevor White, but i can bet they are better than BCEs cues. -
£50 is the wrong amount, either spend less and buy a cheap master billiards cue on ebay or save up a bit for a top quality cue. anything you spend over £20 upto about £100 will be money wasted!Comment

for now, the poster has stated their budget, and theres far better cues around the £50 mark than those that cost less than £20, so for me, your advice wasnt great here ADRComment

buy a cue close to your budget, or a little higher
it will in most cases, though maybe not all, be better than a very cheap cue costing less than £20

well we will have to agree to disagree, i don't see any improvement in quality when you spend up to £50 rather than £20 or £30, you are still getting a cheap chinese cue. i would say they are all much of a muchness until you can afford a thai or uk made cue.Comment

i think he should get one of those jx cues off ebat there pretty good for a begginer, i used to have one good package. and the splises are real not paint or decals so have a look got to ebay.com and type in jx cueComment

Sorry for the delay...Both opinions are opinions and unfortunately I have to stick with Semih_Sayginer's one according to my budget. Snooker is not in the first place in my list of hobbies, so I don't know if I will ever be able to spend more than this on a cue...
I read here(http://www.thesnookerforum.com/cues-...-dad-6007.html) that Peradon, Craftsman and Cue Craft are the best in this price range. What about the Dunns cues. Are they any good. If I buy anything from here

Tend to agree with ADR here. I think that for £20 you can get the same quality Chinese-made cue as for the £50 budget. I don't think ADR's saying go out and buy a Mike Wooldridge cue for £400 because everything else is crap. He's trying to say don't just spend the £50 because that's a figure you've decided to spend.
If you are intent on spending your £50, personally I'd keep an eye on Ebay for a second hand cue from somone like Craftsman. I mention this because I notice that ADR recently sold a nice looking Craftsman cue for not much more than £50.

I 've decided to rise the budget a little bit... I can give no more than 100 pounds, but up to there it's allright. I think I like much the Peradons, the Royal in particular. I stuck there as they not only have 3/4 cues, but 2 pieces cues as well, which leads to a smaller case.

I can see a very high feedback, but with no much cues in its record...The thing is that he told me that the shipping cost to Greece will be 7 pounds! Can I trust it? Otherwise I will buy from the Billiards Boutique. Any other suggestions?Comment

The last time I sold a cue to Greece it was £25 for a 3/4 jointed so it was 42 inch long
A 1/2 jointed cue can go cheaper however so £7 is very goodComment
