  • Chalk build-up

My cue is getting lots of chalk stains under the ferrule.

How can I chalk a cue as bad as this! What am I doing wrong?

Im getting North West Cue in a couple of weeks, I just want advice so I dont ruin that cue!!

Do you mean chalk stains on the shaft or underneath the ferrule?

        Do you have a picture?
I'm still not sure what you mean.
If it's really underneath the ferrule, it's most likely the ferrule's just not fitted neatly.
If you mean your shaft becoming greenish, this thread gives some advice

Generally, with age every cue tends to become slightly greenish on the shaft. You may only use silver chalk to avoid this.

Yeah its the same as that thread. Ive only had it 6 weeks, its probably me chalking when the cue is upright, I will tilt it from now on.

Trimming down the chalk cube the way bongo's advised in the thread will help a little, too.
Good luck with your new cue.

Yeah thanks, I think Kevin said he was selecting a shaft, but that was last Saturday so maybe a fortnight to go!!

or use the hole of the chalk instead of just the center and ware it all down equally instead of just the middle
