I only ask as, yes i do own one, and its one of the nicest and best made cues I have seen. But there are so many places that say english made that are infact the far east (Not that that is a problem). And I know no-one else with one to compare
That is right, and as you said it isn't really a problem, there are some Thailand made cues that are supposed to be good quality, such as O'Min and Unique cues.
Talking about Frank Callan cues, one was being sold a month or two ago in my local newspaper, The Herald.
Ah yes i tracked that one down. It was the cue I got in the end
The guy was from plymouth and was advertising it for £200, did a bad advert on ebay for 2 piece snoooker cue with no pic(yes 3 ooo's). So i asked for pics and i snapped it up for £65 inc cue craft case. Saw another recently but was one of the lower end FC snooker cues on ebay for about £120
Well answered the question myself. Emailed FC Snooker and they are made in Preston....i dont know whether it is a company that makes for others or a bloke in a shed but that was their info...problem solved
That is quite good from £200 to £65, what sort of condition was the cue craft case in?!
Case was perfect, no marks at all. Nice blue anodised 3/4 case too. Cue was very very dry with a 1" crack near the join on the butt but repaired that with resin and you cannot see where it was. Now the cue is so smooth that if you rub it with a cloth in a downwards direction it sings like a crystal glass

Dont you believe it.
Half them cues pictued on the site are chinese. The other half are made from recycled chopsticks from the chinese quarter in brum and stained with curried dog.
Like i said before, i dont care if its made in Preston or Peking, i just wondered. By the way no stained nasty ebony on my cue, but does have faint smell of labrador
Of those FC cues that are English made I'd bet the maker is actually North West Cues. Having just had another look at the site under repairs and alterations they say: "repairs and alterations are carried out by North West Cues"(Kevin Muncaster). So if they are making their own why would they send them out to be altered?
May have been a site I would have dealt with before becoming a tsf member and leaning but not now.
"Made in England Barracuda cues"
lying buggers, they've been made in the far east before FCSnooker existed.
The plot thickens. Thanks for looking Wity. I did look through some of the posts talking about makers and saw Northwest cues in Preston (Think Watford posted it ages ago) but didnt think much more. Oh well, im happy 14 out of 18 league games played, and the 4 lost were with the old cue. I do admit after winning of pulling off a good shot i do whisper thankyou to my cue......or is it a sign of maddness talking to myself????
