  • Competing for a Laser Cue / Laser Cue Question

    Hey!
Today I’m going to be playing in a tournament at GrandBilliards.com to win, get this, a laser cue.
I never played with a laser cue before and I think it will help improve my game. What do you think about laser cues? Do you use them? Did playing with really improve your playing skill?

In any case, I heard there are going to be other free events, and since I love to play there, I thought I would let you guys know about it.
By the way, I was advised by their customer support person to send in ideas for prizes that I would like to win so they will offer them, pretty cool huh?

I remember seeing Steve Davis (I think) test one out a few years back during the world championships.... seemed like it was a good idea.
The thing is, from what I could tell, it only really teaches you to aim straight and how the angles work (where the white will go with no spin applied to the white).
I'd have thought that if you were good enough to win a competition then you wouldn't really need one..., would still be fun though and useful for learning how spin works, etc.

Anyway, good luck in the competition, I hope the balls run your way!

erm... laser cue. Great! unless you like to play with chalk on your cue. Oh! and don't play any power shots that would distort the shape of the hole in the tip. Oh! or ever need to replace your tip.

The only use I can see for this is to practice straight cueing by aiming at a distant object and trying to keep the laser on it.

If you're thinking of sending in an idea for a prize, how about the K-Rest. I'm sure the owner would consider getting a free sample out to them as a prize. (Nothing like a bit of blatant self-promotion.)
