Yes just unscrew the pocket wires and straps that secure the pocket plates to the cushions if you have bolted up plates which BCe have then also unscrew the bolts to these , then unscrew those three cushions only leaving cushions 1 - 3 and 5 on the table , you will then get all the pocket plates off the table without having to unscrew all 6 cushions .

allways support the cushion when taking the bolts out , if you let it drop you can damage the cappings by a mishap of the pocket plates getting bent as the cushion falls . if you can have a another person help you it would help .

Thanks. I have a good idea of what to do now, without having done it before. I'll do it at the weekend when i will hopefully have plenty of time to do it properly.

Remember my 'fitter friend'? He managed to balls up my current leathers by cutting them badly when installing the table. The plates show and obviously the gaps between plate and cushion. So, i do know how they shouldn't look In hindsight, i should have asked the table supplier to pre-fit the leathers.

I did the job today, and i'm really pleased with the result. The dark brown leathers look really good on the table. I did the job as recommended on here by Maryfield and Geoff, but due to the very tight moulded fit, i decided to mark each side in position rather than sliding the leather and cutting flush with the plate. I marked the leathers up and then took them off to cut with my surgeons knife that i use for retipping. For lacing i used brown shoe laces - and they are a perfect match to the leather.

Thanks again for the advice guys.

Hi Geoff, this post is somewhat old, and the product behind the link does not work anymore.
Can you please provide the type of rope (diameter) that should be used?

          Thx

            Hi Geoff

The thread is somewhat old, and the link you provided does not work anymore.
Can you please tell what diameter/spec the string should be?
I have the flat BCE string.

            Thx

Try this , use a thread that is smaller than the holes and also can be threaded in the needle you are using , stain the cord if you want to have dark brown cord by using wood stain and let it fully dry before use .

if you want low cost needles as they are hard to find in the UK try these off amazon , takes around a week to get them though
