And Trev I think we've reached a compromise
I do think that it'll be important that the chevrons be neat and evenly spaced, but you can ask for an Ultimate with 6, 10, 14 or 2 chevrons on it if that's what you want and you can also ask for a maple Ultimate too, so no chevrons!

I'm glad you've reached a compromise with Trev, it's important for the Welsh to stick together; look what it's done for the rugby boys - the Ultimate Welsh team, perhaps?!? Lol

well it's all a matter of personal preference. I myself prefer the arrows because I am used to playing with cues with arrows. Last week I played with a friend of mine and using a cue with no arrows (its probably maple ye?) was a bit annoying to say the least. I don't know why but every time I would get down in line with the cue it was just itching my eyes and I played utterly bad.

But I guess if I'd start practicing with a maple cue I'd get used to it's blank texture.

It's a matter of personal preference and what you get used to! My first cue (3/4) had about 7 chevrons pointing forward so when I ordered my second cue (a one piece), I asked for 5-7 chevrons pointing forward. Got 5 and I'm pretty happy with it. Whatever rocks your boat, I guess.

But I agree with Trevor that it shouldn't make any difference whatsoever in the playability of the cue and cuemakers are entirely entitled to charge a premium for very specific requirements by their clients because I believe it's extremely difficult to source raw material with exact specs, that would be a waste of otherwise perfect timber.

That's exactly what I've been (trying to say??) saying all along.

Oh, Rob, which Batman were you watching, by the way?

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?!?" - that one?

It's not bad, and I liked Keaton as The Batman, but it's not a patch on the most recent ones with Christian Bale, who is The Batman!!

                        7 pages?!? I don't believe it!

I think we answered the original question in about 3 posts, then proceeded to argue whether arrows should appear on a cue at all for the next 60 odd
