  • New angle..New ideas..Hopefully?

Not just a feeble attempt to show you more from my pal Shaun but...

Personally I find it useful to watch these types of videos from above opposed to the usual angles were more used to traditionally. I find that stance, grip and striking of the cue ball can be easier viewed from this angle. So my intention of the thread is to, hopefully, help just one person maybe spot something that they can then take into their game and build upon.

Enjoy. Feedback as ever would be appreciated.

top video Roy, good idea too. Is there any more like this or more over head type vids?

yep, that camera angle is much better for a single camera only setup ... as you say, you can see a whole lot more ... the potting angle and the positional side of the shot ... plus you can see a lot more of the player's cueing action ...

stating the obvious, it needs a high ceiling in the building and high table lights ... try filming my once a week outing down the snooker hall like that and you'll just end up with 3 hours of video showing the top of the lighting canopy ...

If you watch that vid 1lawyer all similar vids will be on the right hand side. Theres a vid of Dott making a 73 I think you can really see the contrast in styles between Murphy/Dott and note Dotts shorter than normal backswing??

I prefer this type of camera angle than the one on the bbc. It is more revealing if you will. This cuesports tv is quite good. I am impressed

Forman, 1lawyer im glad you like it. I certainly prefer the view too and like you say you can notice many things like you wouldnt see on the BBC coverage. Watch it 2/3 times if you have time youll always notice something different.

i don't like the camera angle actually, it's too high up, and the table seems upside down because i'm used to the black being at the bottom.

                  Good Gift Roy! Thanks!

The "God's Eye View" makes it seem so clinical, easy going, and almost effortless,
as if Shaun wasn't playing like a mere mortal!

Be cool to also have the usual 4 or more cameras at table level, for the human drama parts... plus a great video director to cut to the most revealing moments-by-moments as the break carries on...

                  =o)
