  • what to do with my eyes?

    hey guys and gals,

i have read that i should be looking at the object ball when the cue is forward, and then looking at the cue ball when the cue is back, except for on the final feather when you look at the object ball.

How ever the first two steps feel very awkward for me, timing wise.

Should i just keep with it until it might feel more natural?

if u do what u normally do and are happy with how u are potting, then stick with it. unless you are having major problems there is no need to change in my opinion.

with regards to your question, based on my experience, on my final backswing im looking at the cue ball, and on my pause, my eyes switch to the point i want to hit on the object ball, then i push the cue through.

      thanks for the quick reply.

I only started playing a few weeks ago so i am not very good. I thought if i make sure i dont get into any bad habits now then it will help in the future.

Considering this should i try and use the above method.

dont think too hard about it. i have a problem of doing that. my game can literally switch off because i get this bug in my head where i keep thinking about how im sighting the ball and all sorts go on and i just cant pot anything. but yes i see where you are coming from. nailing the basics. however there is no right and wrong way to play snooker. as long as you doing what you want with the ball, then carry on/.

As long as you are looking at the object ball when you strike you don't worry about the other bits right away.
As long as you are hitting the white were you mean to that is.

          Look at this:
