Hand on table

Hi
Do you need any part of your hand touching the table to play a shot or is an "air " shot allowed?

There is no rule that says you must have your hand on the table. You are allowed to play 'air' shots although they're not too steady.

You would be forced to do this when using the rest, where you can't lay the rest down anywhere because of intervening balls.
