I was playing tonight and tried a different way of holding the cue if that makes sense, or cueing, that may make better sense, let me explain, i was playing a game of 8 ball tonight and normally i cue in a way that i try and keep the cue as lever as possible, this is the way i've tried to cue all the time i play, anyways the other night i decided to try and play by lifting the butt of the cue up a bit and found this way much easier to play and pot the balls, potting the balls seemed so much easier this way so was left quite confused as going back to holding the cue level again seemed harder to pot any balls, was watching the snooker tonight and saw that many players seem to do this, the butt seems raised and as they strike through the cue ball the cue goes level, this might just be me and they may cue level all the time but by the looks of it they don't, does anyone else cue this way, i have seen that selby plays this way too, i think something was mentioned about this on the masters by steve davis?.
17min 10sec Of the shot in this video by selby shows what i'm on about, it is kinda raised and then as he go through the shot the cue goes level.
