yes fun is important but if your doing ten hours work a week it could become more..
technique wise you look okay, but in these vids you don't really get a good look because of the quality of the recording and its a bit to far away. you approach the shot nice from what i could see and it looks like you've played a lot of american pool. can't really make out your cue action

you didn't look like you were very low to the table like a snooker player, i only watched a few shots because of the poor video quality

you have a very long bridge over your thumb no matter which cue you are using. You have a long backswing on power shots and for such a long bridge you need to, and do indeed, time the stroke very well.

It goes against the coaching manuals to have such a long bridge, yet you are an accomplished player and I was wondering why such a long bridge ?

I'm working on the bridge. but after al the years with te 60" I'm not always thinking about it. That's one of the main problems I need too work one too be more consistent I think.

yeah like vmax i spotted that long bridge but if your happy with in practicing and playing for fun with the odd big break then so be it. but im sure your well aware when your playing a nice player and your not getting much of a look-in, then over that long bridge starts to hovers a question mark
is there a chance you could put up a better quality vid? if you want anymore feedback that is

wel it's not that I don't make big breaks. I have made a 147 and I'm over 400 century's overall. Most in practice of course. got the max then 3× 146,145 ...
just underachieve in competition. High break in comp. is 126 . and only 2 or 3 in competition a season. In practice I had a time that I made 3 consecutive century's in match. hoping with new cue to come close to it again

1 off the problems is indeed. , that I'm not very low over the table anymore. bad back prevent is. Dawn too that I drop my elbow more then I did in the past. In the past I had more a henry style standing @ the table. if I do that now, I'm in pain later

I know where your coming from David, bad backs are a killer, you are right sometimes we should just be grateful we can still play, so we should enjoy it more.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

That could indeed be the reason for your long bridge and using a shorter cue could make you push your cue arm forward more than is natural for you in order to keep your sighting along the cue the same, thus the elbow dropping.
I use a 62 inch cue as I'm six foot two and have long arms. I also don't get down as low to the table as some, my chin is about four inches off the cue but even with a 62 inch cue my bridge length over my thumb is about half of what yours is as I have my cue arm slightly behind the vertical at address and my bridge arm is dead straight.

No way to see where your cue arm is at address as it is in shadow all the time in those videos but if indeed you do have a long bridge in order to sight better as you can't get down low enough then switching to a shorter cue wouldn't be recomended. You play great with that 60 inch cue and I see no need at all to switch to a 58.

back pain - have you been to a registered osteopath?
I had a car accident many years ago and did my lower back and neck/shoulder in, a few visits to an ostepath does wonders.
Of course I dont know the exact nature of your injury/pain but it could be an idea for you.
