Medium is good - losses its shape a little though it may firm up once bedded properly. When first shaping it crumbled quite a bit and when shaping and trimming I was afraid I would wreck it or had picked a duffer as it was so easy to craft - that said when I burned off any excess with a lighter and burnished it firmed the edges fine
A few knocks with a spare ball it seemed to bed in quite quick and I too think the reaction is very good. I think hard variety is probably best though for me as it would take less time to bed if any and they seem more ready from the off just like the firmer brilliant older Ronnie elks or a DC supreme. A little less reaction perhaps but what you get is a firmer more controlled hit and a tip that lasts months and stays consistent.
The Ronnie elk though a bit pricy is a nice pressed tip but if you like soft tips go medium I'd say its plenty soft enough imho.
