DANIEL Woods swept aside pre-season favourite Jordan Winbourne to extend his lead on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Gold Tour after a famous victory in the final of the fifth leg.
The emphatic 3-0 win at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club means Woods takes a 16-point lead over his club-mate into the final three tournaments.
In the group stages, University of Portsmouth student Woods defeated Chris Richards (Cardiff) 2-1, Lee Bell (Eastleigh) 2-1, Lee Roling (Eastleigh) 2-0 and Kevin Impett (Chandler’s Ford) 2-0.
But the 20-year-old was forced to dig deep in the knockout. He eventually beat Lee Warner (Gosport) 3-2 from 2-1 down.
England international Winbourne beat Bradley Chappell (Bournemouth) 2-0, James Facey (Cardiff) 2-0 and Warner 2-0. But he lost 2-1 to Sam Thomas (Cardiff).
The 14-year-old, who compiled an 87 break against Facey and also had runs of 56 and 50, accounted for Richards 3-1 in the semi-finals.
The sixth leg of the eight-tournament series is at Salisbury Snooker Club on March 6.

SWINDON’S Oliver Parsons is making a late charge up the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour rankings.
Parsons, who had not been past the quarter-finals in the four previous tournaments, defeated current leader Daniel Winfield (Westbury) 2-0 in the semi-final of the fifth leg at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club.
And he continued his excellent form by seeing off Dean Matthews (Ivy Leaf Club) by the same score in the final.
Parsons may have stuttered through the group stages – he only won three of his five matches and qualified for the knockout in second place behind Matthews – but he sailed through the knockout without dropping a frame.
He accounted for Ryan Gavin (Liberal Club, High Wycombe) 2-0 in the last-eight.

Browne, who is based at Player’s in Westbury, defeated Group D winner Nathan Farmer (Stoke SC, Gosport) 2-0 in the final of the fifth leg at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club. He was also victorious at the third leg in Portsmouth in December.
Group C winner Probets, from Jesters in Swindon, suffered a shock 2-0 defeat by Group B runner-up Cameron Holt (Liberal Club, High Wycombe) in the quarter-finals.
Holt went out 2-1 in the last-four to Farmer, who had beaten Oliver Clark (Stoke SC, Gosport) 2-0 in the previous round.
