  • Will the Snooker-Masters take place? (with full-house?)

    Hello
I am from Switzerland and have Tickets for the Snooker-Masters.
Do you think, they will take place?
    With a crowd?
I am looking for any information… - since here in Switzerland we here nothing about
    topics like this.
    Thanks and Cheers
    Mike

Wales have just announced that from December 26 all sports events will go ahead without crowds. Wouldn’t be surprised if England follow suit.
Government advise is to keep social interactions to a minimum. Travelling from Switzerland to London doesn’t seem to be a good idea. Too risky. All sorts of things can go wrong. Cancelled flights, last minute quarantine rules etc etc. Best to stay at home and watch on TV if possible. Bit different if you’re within travelling distance of Ally Pally. Get your booster and keep your fingers crossed.

            Hello
I am offering my tickets in this forum - so far no reply.
Do you think that it is a good idea to offer them here?
Or were should I offer them?
Maybe no one is interested in my tickets, because of a high chance, that the event takes place without crowd.
Thankful for any answer and/or help
            Mike

Won’t be long before Boris follows on from actions being taken by Wales and Scotland. Think that means The Masters will be crowd free. Assume everyone with tickets will get a refund.

It’s all political now ,Boris doesn’t want to put any more restrictions on because he knows he will be threatened by Mp’s voting against him ,after the last revolt and the Christmas party that went ahead he can’t afford another hammering that would seriously hurt his position .As long as the hospitalisations don’t go up and NHS staff are not all isolating with Mr Corony then It should go ahead .Worse case I think would be a ltd crowd .

I’m starting to think it might go ahead with crowds. Boris looks like he’s going to put the economy first and let Omicron rip through the population as from what the scientists say it’s not as severe as Delta so less deaths. Hospitalisations are up but they’re building extra bed capacity to cope.
Can anyone with SKY comment on the crowd situation in Ally Pally for the darts which is ongoing atm? Is it full house with lots of boisterous behaviour?

Yes its full house and wild enough BUT 4 prominent players have been tested positive for covid and have pulled out , including MVG who said organizers were not strict enough on admission checks. Ironically Michael Van Gerwan said before Xmas there would be no audience after |Christmas break but it was HE who didn't come back !! . The Welsh world number 1 wants the tournament ( whats left of it ) postponed for months. Quarter finals are tomorrow

Snooker has always been a bit of a bench mark regarding Mr Corony in his various guises ,look at the World championship with all the testing and crowd spacing ,it worked well . I think with snooker being less crowds and more controllable it will go ahead ,as with what Nifty said ,Boris is letting it run its course ,it’s too late for daft rules now Covid is out of control and it’s got to run its course .Most of the rules of trying to stop it or control it are made up by morons that don’t think of what they are trying to achieve.
