  • New player looking for a playing partner for practice - St Albans/Herts area

    Hi All,

I am new to the site so thanks for having me! I am a member of a club in St Albans but looking to find someone to practice with to develop my game.

Been playing on/off for a few years but still a beginner's standard - highest break of 35.

Is there anyone looking for a practice partner of a similar standard?

    TIA!

    Scott

If that's the Raging Ball Club stay away from table 11 (huge rip on the cloth right in line with a black pocket) and table 9 as that one had had a middle light out since pre Covid! The 3 hours table time for the price of 2 is worth it though Table 7 was recovered a couple of months ago so is probably the best one up there. If it's not Raging Ball then ignore what I said

The match table in the room on its own isn't too bad but the cloth's a bit too slow. I asked the lady behind the bar a few weekends ago if they could put a faster cloth on it , she said she'll ask but she seemed to doubt it would be done though.
I'd still practice on it for potting if and when i can find the time.

If they can't get a bulb for table 9 I doubt they'll be re-covering that table any time soon
It was a much better snooker club when the previous owners had 20 full-size snooker tables up there and the bakery was underneath providing constant heat, kept the tables running nice - even if the person that used to brush the tables used to go in a circular motion

                  Hi Alex,
Thanks for your response and apologies for the delay getting back to you. I haven’t been receiving email notifications for replies to my post so assumed I hadn’t received any!

I’d be keen to meet up for a game. The club in St Albans isn’t the best but it’s not bad for getting some practice in at my level!

Do you have Instagram or Twitter? Thinking maybe we can find each other through those channels to dm if we can’t do so on here?
