  • Hi everybody

I fell in love with the game some 20 years ago after i bought a 50£ billiard table for a friend at his birthday as a joke and we started to play billiard and watch snooker on TV.

Where i live (in the far north of sweden) we have no pool halls so its hard to find people to debate and learn snooker from.

We are all pretty terrible players that just play for fun. I have a maximum brake of 45, the undesputed champion of the gang has a brake of 96 and the rest havent got to 30 yet. but its still really nice to get together and watch Snooker on Eurosport play Snooker and socialize.

I have a problem however. I tend to loose frames against opponents that really aint as good as me. Sometimes beacause they have a good day and play really well, thats completly a good thing and im genuinely happy when that happens. Sometimes i loose because i play bad, thats not good, but its my own fault and i know whats happening. But then often, too often, its seemes like my opponent are the luckiest people on earth. My positional play may not be the best, but in comparison with some of my opponent its like night and day. Even so they can time after time pocket a ball with no thought of whats going to happen with the white, and it just stops perfectly in position to another ball.
I understand that one can't be lucky forever maybe they are doing something subconsciously right?
What can i do to win over bad opponents?

I forgot to mention that no one of us have a full size 12' snooker table. we aint got niether the room or skill for one. thats how we got the pretty good maximum brakes.
