what treatment for cue

i am new to this .. i have a cue which i sanded down, but i have to keep sanding cos of dirt build up , what treatment do i need (oil or wax or both )???

Don't sand it. Clean with a damp cloth before you play (and during if you need to) and dry quickly.

but i have already sanded it ,does it now need treating

Others may be able to advise better. Depending on how much its been sanded it might need the grain filling again? (ash is open grained wood and needs the grain filling) before being refinished. A few coats of raw linseed oil possibly followed by some cue wax.
